At the crucial moment of global pandemic response, the summit was jointly proposed by China; South Africa, the rotating chair of the African Union (AU); and Senegal, co-chair of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
ISTANBUL, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese consul general in Istanbul on Thursday discussed cooperation with the mayor of one district of Istanbul. Consul General Cui Wei and Haydar Ali Yildiz, mayor of Beyoglu, one of Istanbul's most crowded districts, exchanged ideas about the latest situation in the fight against the coronavirus via a video conference, the consulate said on its Instagram account.
A teleconference was held on March 13 at the Second Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (SAHZU) for Chinese and Irish medical workers to share experience of the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. The teleconference, spanning nearly 9,000 kilometers, was a response to Oisin O'Connell, a consultant in Bon Secours Hospital Cork, who emailed the SAHZU days earlier asking for China's experiences in pandemic response.
