Africa CDC commends Chinese support on COVID-19 fight

ADDIS ABABA, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese medical experts are helping African countries to manage COVID-19 outbreak, the Africa Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) said on Thursday. Speaking to press on Thursday, John Nkengasong, Africa CDC Director, said medical experts from 32 African countries recently held a webinar with Chinese counterparts on how to better handle the COVID-19 outbreak in the continent.

According to the latest figures from the Africa Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the death toll from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic on the African continent reached 2,403 as the number of confirmed cases hit 69,578 as of Wednesday afternoon.

China-S. Korea cooperation against COVID-19 effective, exemplary: Xi

BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said Wednesday that cooperation between China and South Korea against the COVID-19 pandemic is effective and has contributed useful experience to and set a good example of cooperation for the global fight against the coronavirus disease. Xi made the remarks in a telephone conversation in the night with South Korean President Moon Jae-in.
