Foreign journalists expressed confidence in Chinese dairy companies during a recent visit to Chengdu Yili Dairy Co. Ltd. in southwest China's Sichuan province, as part of the second media workshop for the Belt and Road News Network (BRNN).
Chinese dairy enterprises have adopted modern manufacturing modes and are strict with their production environment, which makes their products reliable, said Sawsan Khalifa, a reporter for Alsudani in Sudan.
In recent years, Chengdu Yili Dairy has established a complete quality management system concerning the various aspects of its production process, covering a total of more than 1,000 items.
Not only has the company applied advanced technologies such as big data and AI to manage each part of the industrial chain, it has also built several leading R&D centers to deepen the research in nutrition and health, based on the demands of consumers from various countries and regions.
For example, the company has introduced a type of sugar-free milk, which suits Asian consumers who generally suffer from lactose intolerance, according to Hamood Al-Mahrezi, deputy editing director of the Oman Establishment for Press, Publication and Advertising.
Chengdu Yili Dairy registered a total operating income of 68.7 billion yuan in the first three quarters of this year, a year-on-year increase of 12 percent. Its products have been exported to Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, among others.
Chinese dairy enterprises have significantly developed, said Hossam Abd Alalem, the head of the Diplomatic Affairs Department of Akhbar El-Yom, Egypt, noting he looks forward to cooperation between Chinese and Egyptian dairy companies.
