Note: This column mainly includes countries along the Belt and Road and countries that have signed cooperation agreements with China on Belt and Road Initiative.

In 2013, the relationship between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Estonia continued to develop.

The two countries maintained high-level contact. In November, Premier Li Keqiang met with Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip in Bucharest, Romania, who was attending the Meeting of Heads of Government between China and Central and Eastern European Countries, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet sent messages of condolences to Foreign Minister Wang Yi over the Lushan earthquake in Sichuan Province, Dehui fire accident in Jilin Province and Dingxi earthquake in Gansu Province respectively.

Business cooperation continued to advance. In July, a business delegation from Jilin Province visited Estonia and established a Jilin business representative office and a commodities marketing center in Tallinn.

Cultural and people-to-people exchanges and cooperation at the local level became increasingly frequent. In May, Estonian Minister of Culture Rein Lang attended in China the Forum on Cultural Cooperation Between China and Eastern European Countries. Delegations from Beijing Municipality, Henan Province and Tianjin Municipality paid separate visits to Estonia.
