Indonesian batik has made an appearance as world leaders meet for the G20 summit on Bali island in Indonesia.

As a highly-developed Indonesian craft, Batik has been recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Batik is worn throughout the country, especially on important occasions. It is an important part of Indonesian culture and is an integral part of the everyday lives of Indonesians.

Batik is a textile that uses wax and dyes to create dots widely arranged in stunning patterns and designs. Chinese dragons, phoenixes and copper coins often feature in batik designs. Batik patterns, which are frequently seen on cloth or fabric, have also been incorporated into a variety of handicrafts, including clothing, purses, and coin bags.

From the traditional hand-drawn to a more contemporary fashion icon, the Batik tradition has been passed down in Indonesia from generation to generation.
