A craftsman from Yuxi city, southwest China's Yunnan Province has turned used disposable chopsticks into wondrous miniatures of architecture, offering a unique and captivating way to appreciate the structures.
Tang Zhengjun, a man from Hongta district of Yuxi, has used tens of thousands of pairs of used disposable bamboo chopsticks to build scale models of some of the iconic architecture such as the Yellow Crane Tower, a landmark of the city of Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province, and Yuxi's local landmarks Lanxi Bridge and Phoenix Tower.
Tang, 45, is a carpenter at a local company in Yuxi, who has shown a passion for handicrafts since childhood.
Tang saw a miniature version of the classical Suzhou gardens online three years ago, which prompted him to make handicrafts using chopsticks. He got the used disposable chopsticks from his older sister, who owns a restaurant.
To enhance the aesthetic appeal of the models, he also purchased LED light strips online and equipped the models with the strips.
