Follow Xi Jinping's footsteps to China's four major cave complexes

The Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, central China's Henan Province, with a history of over 1,500 years, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site of great global significance.

Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected the Longmen Grottoes on May 19, 2025. He underlined the importance of preserving, inheriting and promoting these treasures of Chinese culture.

The Longmen Grottoes are one of China's four largest Buddhist cave complexes, along with the Mogao Caves and Maijishan Grottoes in Gansu Province, and the Yungang Grottoes in Shanxi Province.
