American visitor discovers China's 'industrial soul'

People's Daily Online recently visited the China Industrial Museum in Shenyang, the capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province. The museum, located on the original site of the Shenyang Foundry's workshop, now features five permanent exhibition halls and a metallurgical machinery section, with a collection of more than 15,000 artifacts.

Visitors can explore the deep roots of Chinese industry in the museum's collection of historic machine tools and gears. Michael Kurtagh, a People's Daily Online reporter from Detroit, the US, said the setting felt familiar, sharing the same "industrial soul" as his hometown.
