Alexandria A. Deacon, a sophomore majoring in journalism and advertising at Southern Illinois University in the U.S., is a typical Gen Z American — curious, enthusiastic and ready for adventure. This winter, with preparations for China's 15th National Games in full swing, she traveled to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) to experience the full strength and vitality of China's major sports events.

She described the atmosphere of thousands of spectators as "electrifying," noting that the experience was unique compared to what she is used to in the U.S.

"I definitely want to bring my parents to China so they can experience everything I've been through," she added. "I'm sure it'll be even more amazing when I come back next time!"

Tune in to the latest episode of "Touching the Greater Bay Area" and follow Alex as she embarks on this eye-opening journey through the GBA. The five-episode series airs daily on the Greater Bay Area Satellite TV Channel (Overseas Edition), People's Daily Online, and the digital platforms of Guangdong Radio and Television from Dec. 3-7.
