PHNOM PENH, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- The first Cambodia-China public-private sector dialogue was convened here on Monday, aiming at finding solutions to challenges faced by Chinese enterprises in the Southeast Asian country.

Held at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), the dialogue was chaired by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and CDC First Vice Chairman Sun Chanthol and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin, and attended by representatives of 80 Chinese companies.

"The dialogue is to hear issues faced by Chinese investors in Cambodia and try to find solutions to those issues," Chanthol said.

He said the dialogue will be held regularly every six months to follow up on solutions to issues, noting China is the top investor and trading partner of Cambodia.

He expressed his sincere gratitude to Chinese investors for doing business in Cambodia, saying that their investments have greatly contributed to the kingdom's socio-economic development and poverty alleviation.

Wang said the dialogue was very good as it would help investors to address barriers to their business operations and growth.

He added that Chinese enterprises in Cambodia have created more than 1 million jobs, significantly supporting the country's sustainable economic growth and trade expansion with China and the rest of the world.
