On the Plan | China a global tech leader, says 48 Group chairman

China is set to take a global lead in technology during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), said Jack Perry, chairman of the 48 Group, in an exclusive interview with People's Daily Online at the China Development Forum 2026 held in Beijing on March 22-23.

Perry noted that the world is entering a new phase driven by technology.

"Energy is the power, quantum is the speed, AI is the brain and robotics is the implementation," he said, adding that China is demonstrating leadership across key sectors expected to reshape industries worldwide.

Perry stated that the 48 Group is expanding its focus on robotics and artificial intelligence to align with China's innovation capabilities and deepen cooperation with Chinese companies. The group is also committed to connecting Chinese and foreign enterprises, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise between both sides.
