Production of badminton shuttlecocks is in full swing at a factory operated by Guizhou RSL Sports Culture Development Co., Ltd. in Jinping county, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Guizhou Province. The company's shuttlecocks are shipped to more than 60 countries and regions.

Focusing on the sports goods industry, the county has built a complete industrial chain around Guizhou RSL, the leading enterprise in the sector. The chain encompasses goose feather supply, R&D and design, feather processing, shuttlecock manufacturing, brand operation, and the integration of sports and tourism.

According to production manager Hu Bing, the company produced over 7.11 million dozen shuttlecocks in 2025, generating an output value of 825 million yuan ($121 million), up 46.3 percent year on year.

Its exports reached about $18.84 million last year, an increase of 38.7 percent from the previous year. Today, one in every 10 shuttlecocks in the world comes from Jinping.

The steady growth of the leading enterprise has also attracted upstream and downstream businesses, helping expand the local industrial chain. Building on shuttlecock manufacturing, the county has developed supporting industries producing badminton rackets, sports bags, professional sports socks and billiard tables.

Official figures show that by the end of 2025, the county's economic development zone was home to 17 sports equipment manufacturers, with the industry's combined annual output value reaching 926 million yuan.

That industrial base is now feeding into tourism. The county is developing a sports and tourism complex that combines sports experiences, badminton culture exhibitions and eco-tourism. It also regularly hosts Guizhou's grassroots "Village Badminton" tournament, along with industry exchange activities that draw badminton enthusiasts and visitors from across China.
