Thanks to an ecological restoration program, the coastal wetlands of the Daling River estuary in Jinzhou, northeast China's Liaoning Province now host nearly 100 bird species, including black-faced spoonbills, oriental storks, red-crowned cranes and black-headed gulls, making the estuary a popular destination for tourists, photographers and birdwatching enthusiasts.
In recent years, Jinzhou has invested over 21 million yuan ($2.92 million) in the ecological restoration project of the Daling River estuary. The project has restored 190 hectares of coastal wetlands and 1,000 meters of shoreline, effectively curbing the degradation of wetland vegetation at the estuary.
