In mid-July, several Dong ethnic villages in Liping county, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, have entered peak tourism season. In Huanggang Dong village, the wooden houses are neatly arranged, creating a stunning scene set against the backdrop of mountains and forests. In Zhaoxing village, the beautiful scenery and immersive cultural experiences continue to attract crowds of visitors eager to explore local Dong traditions.

Liping has been actively tapping into the market value and industrial potential of ethnic culture. Centered on its cultural roots, the county is opening new paths for development, promoting integration, and building a model of "cultural tourism integration plus intangible cultural heritage preservation plus ecological economy." The goal is to drive coordinated development between rural revitalization and the county's overall economy.

In 2024, Liping county received 6.62 million tourist visits, up 14 percent year on year. In the same year, its comprehensive tourism revenue reached 7.3 billion yuan (about $1.02 billion), up 18 percent year on year.
