Blueberries

Native to North America, blueberries have quickly flourished in China thanks to their high economic value and market appeal. Since the beginning of large-scale commercial cultivation in 2000, the blueberry industry in China has expanded dramatically in both acreage and yield.

By 2023, the number of provinces growing blueberries had risen from just 10 to 27, ensuring year-round supply of fresh fruit. In 2024, China's total blueberry cultivation area exceeded 1.4 million mu, an increase of 44 percent compared to 2020. Total production grew by 197 percent.
